About this pack

This 9-page set of vowel teams and diphthongs sentence scramble worksheets gives 1st and 2nd grade and ESL/EFL students 54 jumbled sentences, six per page, each built from six word tiles.

Every page targets one spelling pattern, named in the top corner. Six pages cover vowel teams: ai/ay, ee/ea/ey, ie/igh, oa/ow, ue/ui and oo/ew. Three pages cover diphthongs: oi/oy, ou/ow and au/aw. Students unscramble the tiles and write the sentence on the handwriting lines underneath. The capital letter and the end mark stay attached to their words, so "The" and "rain." show where the sentence starts and stops. Sentences include "The snail stays in the rain.", "Three sheep sleep under a tree.", "The goat sat on the road." and "I saw a hawk at dawn." Questions and exclamations are mixed in, such as "May I play with your train?" There is no answer key.
