This 9-page CVC sentence worksheet set helps 1st Grade and ESL/EFL students read, copy, and fix short sentences built from 31 short vowel word families. Each page is labelled with its word families (for example -ab, -ad, -ag, -am, or -op, -ox, -od) and has three picture-supported sentences such as "A man has a cap.", "Meg is in a jet.", and "The nut is in the hut." On the first page, "Fix the Mistakes", students correct each sentence and write it out. On the other eight "Write and Read" pages they copy each sentence onto the lines and read it three times. A "Match the rhyming words" strip across the bottom of every page has students draw lines between rhyming pairs, such as cap and tap or bun and sun. All five short vowels are covered, in this order: a, e, i, o, u.
