Every "Reading Time" page opens with a four-sentence story built almost entirely from short i CVC words: "Kit can Sit" (-it), "Sid on his Lid" (-id), "Rin's Pin" (-in), "A Pig's Wig" (-ig), and "Slim Kim" (-im). Underneath, students circle the target-family words in the story, copy them onto dotted lines beside a pencil, and complete three picture clues by writing the missing letter (for example K_t, pi_, and _it).
