About this pack
This 30-page pack gives 1st and 2nd grade and ESL/EFL students one clothes-themed sentence pyramid per page to read, copy and draw.
Each page builds a sentence in four lines, adding a word or two each time: "I wear" grows into "I wear a red hat.", "She zips" into "She zips up her coat." and "Ben has" into "Ben has big black boots." Students read each line and write it on the handwriting lines underneath, then show what the full sentence means in a "Draw the sentence" box at the bottom of the page.
Every sentence uses a different item of clothing, so the pack doubles as a clothes vocabulary review: hat, shoes, socks, coat, scarf, gloves, boots, raincoats, dress, cap, shirt, shorts, mittens, tie, skirt, belt, jacket, rain boots, sandals and more. The sentences also cover useful verbs for the topic (wear, put on, zip up, tie, hang up, put away), colors and patterns such as stripes and pink dots, and weather and places like the rain, hot days and the beach. Each page has a black-and-white line drawing that matches its sentence, such as a penguin in a scarf or a frog in rain boots.
