About this pack
This 12-page set of telling time to the half hour worksheets for 1st grade and ESL/EFL students has 96 numbered clock problems, every one of them a ":30" time, with students switching between analog and digital clocks.
Page 1 explains the half-hour rule in a single box: the long hand points straight down at the 6 and the short hand sits between two numbers. The worked example is a clock showing 10:30, which students also see written as a digital 10:30 and read aloud as "ten thirty." The 8 warm-up items below it mix four digital times (11:30, 04:30, 12:30, 09:30) with four analog clocks, and for each one students write the hour and minutes, then the time in words using "thirty."
Pages 2–12 repeat one three-part layout. Items 1–4 show an analog clock, and students write the matching digital time in the box. Items 5–8 give a digital time such as 02:30 or 07:30, and students draw both hands on a blank clock face, which is the step that shows whether they know the hour hand has moved past the hour. Each page ends with two "write your own time" panels where students pick a half-hour time and show it on both a digital and an analog clock. Half-hour times from 1:30 to 12:30 appear throughout. There is no answer key.
