Ribbit — ESL/EFL Worksheet Resource

This 30-page set of spring sentence pyramids builds one spring sentence a word at a time, so 1st graders read the same words again and again as the sentence grows. The sentences are about weather, nature and animals in spring: "Flowers bloom in spring.", "Rain falls in April.", "Bees make fresh honey.", "The sun feels warmer.", "Farmers start to plant crops.", "Bears wake up after winter sleep.", "Spring weather can change fast." and "Nature grows bigger and bigger." Shorter sentences have four lines and longer ones six, so difficulty varies a little across the set. Under every line there is a dotted handwriting line for copying, and each page ends with a box to draw the sentence. The black-and-white spring pictures (a sunflower, a beehive, a sleeping bear) can be coloured in.
