Ribbit — ESL/EFL Worksheet Resource

A set of 30 spring-themed sentence pyramid slides for building reading fluency in 1st grade. Each landscape slide starts with one or two words and adds a little more on every line until it becomes a full sentence: "Rain / Rain falls / Rain falls in / Rain falls in April." Every slide has a matching picture and a spring topic, such as bees making honey, rabbits hopping in fields, snow melting in early spring, rainbows after rain, farmers planting crops, and bears waking up after their winter sleep. The later slides build longer sentences with 6 or 7 words, such as "Many insects come outside again." Because each line repeats the one before it, students reread the same words several times. That builds speed and confidence without making the task feel like drill. What's Included: • 30 sentence pyramid slides (landscape PDF) that you can show on a screen or print • A picture on every slide • Sentences that grow from 3 to 7 words Skills Practised: • Reading fluency and rereading • Reading high-frequency words in context • Building longer sentences word by word Perfect for: • 1st grade spring reading warm-ups • Whole-class reading on an interactive whiteboard • ESL/EFL learners building sentence length
