Sight Word Sentence Pyramids | Fry First 100 Words Fluency Practice | 1st Grade Reading
Ribbit — ESL/EFL Worksheet Resource
This 100-page fluency pack gives one page to each of the first 100 Fry sight words, in list order from "the", "of" and "and" through to "come", "made", "may" and "part". Every page is a sentence pyramid. The sentence grows one word per line ("The / The cat / The cat is / The cat is white / The cat is white and / The cat is white and black."), so children reread the start of the sentence again and again and build speed before they reach the full line. The target word sits in a bubble at the top and in large outline letters beside a simple picture to colour. Four face icons let children stamp or tick each time they read the sentence, and a box at the bottom asks them to draw it. The sentences use simple, decodable words around each sight word, such as "That big pig will dig", "Put it into the box" and "This noodle is long." Pages are black and white.
