Ribbit — ESL/EFL Worksheet Resource

This 28-page pack of book report templates for Grades 2–3 and ESL/EFL students has 11 reading response pages, each printed in two versions, plus a reading log and two word bank pages. The two versions share one layout. The Supported (S) page adds sentence starters and a small word bank, such as "The main character is…" or "At the beginning,…", for newer English learners and younger readers. The Independent (I) page keeps the same boxes but swaps the starters for a short question and open lines, for confident writers. A page code in the corner (1S, 1I, 2S, 2I…) tells you which is which, so a whole class can work on the same template at two levels. The 11 templates are My Book Report (characters, setting, best part, and a star rating), Story Map (beginning, middle, end), What Happened? (four events in order), Character Profile, Problem & Solution, Setting, Book Review (opinion with reasons), Fact Finder Report for non-fiction books, Word Collector (four new words with page, meaning, and a sentence), Compare Two Characters, and Book Talk, a speaking plan with a short self-check for presenting a book to the class. Word Bank A lists 16 character trait words with simple definitions (brave, curious, grumpy, patient…), and Word Bank B lists 8 feelings words, each with a sentence practice task. A one-page teacher notes sheet explains how to use the two levels.
