Ribbit — ESL/EFL Worksheet Resource

This 11-page punctuation pack is about one thing: putting a period at the end of a sentence, first in single sentences and then in short paragraphs. Page 1 is a "Chapter 4 – Punctuation" divider. Pages 2–6 each have a rule box ("A period is used at the end of a sentence", with "Louis has a big toe." and "Tim's hat is red." as examples), five sentences missing their period, such as "The small brown dog runs very fast" and "We drink cold milk with our breakfast", and a line to write one sentence of their own. One page asks children to rewrite each sentence, not just add the period. Pages 7–11 are passages with every period removed, on Pets, Spring, School, Food and Transport. Children read each paragraph, decide where each sentence stops and add the periods, then draw the passage. A tip on each page reminds them that capital letters show where a sentence begins. One line in the Spring passage reads awkwardly ("When it rains, and we jump in puddles"). There is no answer key. What's Included: • 11-page printable PDF • 5 sentence pages, 5 sentences each • 5 passages with the periods removed • A write-your-own sentence on each sentence page Skills Practised: • Ending a sentence with a period • Finding where one sentence ends and the next begins • Using capital letters as a clue • Writing a complete sentence Perfect for: • 1st grade punctuation lessons • ESL/EFL writers who run sentences together • Grammar warm-ups and homework
