Ribbit — ESL/EFL Worksheet Resource

This 30-page insect sentence pyramid pack builds one sentence a word at a time on every page, then asks students to draw it. Each page starts with a single word and adds a word per line until the full sentence appears: "Ladybugs / Ladybugs eat / Ladybugs eat tiny / Ladybugs eat tiny aphids." Students read each line and write it on the handwriting lines below, and a "Draw the sentence" box finishes the page. The finished sentences are short insect facts, such as "Termites eat wood in trees", "Water striders walk on water", "Stick insects look like branches" and "Glowworms shine in caves". Each page has a cartoon insect to colour. Growing the sentence one word at a time lets early readers re-read the known words quickly and focus on the new one, which is why pyramid pages work well for fluency.
