Prepositions Flash Cards | 26 Picture and Word Fold Cards with Word List | 1st Grade ESL

Ribbit — ESL/EFL Worksheet Resource

This 14-page set of prepositions flash cards has 26 picture-and-word cards plus a word list, covering position and direction words from in and on to away from, toward and through. The 26 words are in, on, among, under, opposite, between, above, in front of, behind, near, far, right of, left of, through, toward, away from, against, out, up, down, along, into, out of, around, past and next to. Each card has a colourful cartoon picture on one half and the word on the other, so it can be folded in two for a picture-on-one-side, word-on-the-other card, or cut apart for matching games. Two cards fit on each page. The final page is a word list of all 26 prepositions. The pictures act out each word: a bus driving past children at a bus stop, a lion jumping through a hoop, vegetables going into and out of a box, a cat between two other animals. Paired cards such as into/out of, up/down and left of/right of make good concept pairs to teach together. The file carries a 2019 "The Educational Penguin" footer from an earlier edition.
