This 7-page set of ocean-themed number puzzles for Pre-K, Kindergarten and 1st grade gives children 20 two-piece cards, one for each number from 1 to 20. Each card is a full-colour sea picture with the same numeral printed in two corners and a dashed line down the middle. Cut along the line, mix the halves, and children rebuild each picture by matching the numerals. The pictures include a fish, dolphin, whale, crab, lobster, squid, octopus, seahorse, narwhal, walrus, orca, manta ray and nautilus, plus a few non-animals such as a Viking ship, a coral reef and a crocodile. Because both halves carry the numeral, the matching works even for children who can't yet count to 20: they compare shapes first, and the pictures check the answer. The pages have no word cards, number words or recording sheet.
