Ribbit — ESL/EFL Worksheet Resource

This 10-page proper noun pack has Grade 1 students rewrite 50 short sentences in which every name has been typed in lower case, such as "tim and ben play in the park." Each page starts with a box of three pictured characters whose names are shown with a bold capital, as a reminder that a name is capitalized every time it is used. Five sentences follow, each with a line for the corrected version. They mix people and pets ("jack has a pink fish called, bluey."), and many also begin with a lower-case letter, so students fix the first word as well as the names. The page ends with a box where students write their own sentence using two names. What's Included: • 10-page printable PDF • 50 sentences to rewrite with correct capitals • A write-your-own sentence box on every page Skills Practised: • Capitalizing people's and pets' names • Capitalizing the first word of a sentence • Copying sentences neatly Perfect for: • Grade 1 grammar lessons on proper nouns • Editing practice and morning work • ESL/EFL learners whose first language uses capitals differently
